40 Days of Service Day 19

Morning Prayer: Lord, how can I serve you today?

Scripture: Revelation 7:9-17

John describes an amazing image of the servants of God. There was “a great multitude that no one could count…” This multitude had people from every nation. This multitude had people from every tribe. And this multitude had people from every language. It seems the servants of God were divided, because they were so different, but they were all “standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.” They were all dressed in white robes. And they were all waving palm branches. They all cried out in a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.”

John wondered who these people are. We are told that they came out of the great tribulation. The word “great” describes both the multitude and the tribulation. Our world seems to be falling apart, and the persecution against Christians seems to be getting greater. Because of the great moral decay, it seems there is not very many servants of God. The good news is that there is a great multitude from every nation, every tribe, every language whom God is about to deliver. I want to be a part of that great multitude.
