40 Days of Service Day 3

March 3, 2017

Morning Prayer: Lord, how can I serve you today?

Scripture: 1Samuel 3:1-10

Eli was getting old and his eyesight was getting bad. A young boy by the name of Samuel was his apprentice. One night God called out to Samuel. The young boy thought that it was Eli, so he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, you called me.” This would happen three times. Whenever God would call Samuel, Samuel went to Eli and said, “Here I am, you called me.”

I have heard people say that God is not interested in your abilities; He is interested in your availability. I believe that God is interested in your abilities. He gifted you with the abilities so that you can be equipped for every good service. A lot of people have been gifted to serve God, but can’t find the time to put those gifts and abilities to work. God wants you to be available. You might have a lot to do these next forty days, but I pray that God has your availability. Even if he calls you in the middle of the night God wants to hear his servants respond, “Here I am, you called me.”
